Hit Counter Technical Issues

Good People of codbag land,

We(and when I say "we" I really mean "I") have been having some technical difficulties recently with the hit counter being really slow. I have been feverishly (and when I say feverishly, I mean "at my usual snails pace") to correct these issues. Some have been resolved but some of my true enemies have yet to reveal themselves. (10 points if you can tell me where I got that line).

Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy my splendiferous hit counters.

Sounds like a good idea. The craigslist counter, that is.
But I can find nothing, anywhere giving me the slightest hint of how to install or use the counter.
Any suggestions?

Does anyone know how to include this counter in a Craigslist posting?

Hi Chicxulub,

You're right, I should document how to use it better. I'll add it to the list :)

Once you create the counter, you copy and past the HTML code generated to your Craigslist ad or wherever. For example, if you're creating a Craigslist ad, you'd type in all the normal information about your ad then when you get done paste the code for the counter. if you want, send me an e-mail to kellymiller@freighthound.com with more specifics as to where you'd like to use a counter and I can give you some better instructions. Thanks

I got your free hit counter on two pages and I don't want to be labeled a cod bag but it seems both counters run at the same count...? (With-in one number) Has this came up before?
Sorry not complaining about free counter just wondering...

B-

Sounds like you may be using the same counter for both pages. The HTML you copy/pasted contains a unique identifier which is critical to the way the counter works. In essence, the counter doesn't know which page it is on, it just knows it is being viewed and increases the count by one.

Solution: Create a second counter and replace the HTML code on one of the two pages.

Hope that helps. Let us know if it doesn't.

Hey I am loving this shit. I put an item on egag yesterday for a ring that was worth 5 times what i was trying to sell it for and I get this email from a woman: Hi I just had a baby 3 months ago so I would like to bid $200.00 for that ring listed for $1200.00? Just wanted to put that out there just in case it does not sell. Stupid bitch then writes another asking what is my lowest selling price since she LOVES THIS RING SO MUCH? I kindly told her $200.00 more than it really is! Kiss my ass if she buys the ring she will wear it to some hooplaw and then want a refund! Again, kiss my big fat slobbery soft ass, again bitch! Signed one ehag away!
I want to send congrats to this and I am going to use it everywhere!
